This idea came to me after the death of a friend who was Catholic. I am not Catholic - but I would call myself a spiritual person. My daughter has had much interest in religion lately and asked a lot of questions about heaven and what happens to us after we die. I have given her much to think about and she has already made her own choice, which is different than mine. I am actually very impressed with her. She has made a choice and I will nurture that as much as possible. Anyway, I digress, and this is the work-in-progress that has come from these talks and readings from the bible - as well as from the passing of a dear friend. This is a 24 x 24" canvas with Golden acrylics, many image transfers, photo images & vintage greeting card images. The image transfer on the very right (the girl looking through the window) is from a photo of my daughter, Ella, when she was only 2. I turned it into a line drawing in Photoshop, printed it, & made a photocopy. I take photos of bare trees and flowers against a white or light gray sky and those are all image transfers from photos. The image transfer of the little girl looking down from heaven is from a magazine from 1957 (as are the two children sitting together). The really metallic streak near the top is silver leaf . For fun I added a telephone tower that is directly under the window - just in case you can call from a cell phone. ;)
