Media:  Acrylic and Mixed Media on Canvas
Dimensions:  24 x 30"
Date of Work:  2007 & 2008

I thought this image was suitable for the HIDDEN exhibition because of what it represents. This painting is slightly ambiguous in that it seems like a happy, inviting place. The painting was started in 2007 and was actually entered into the "UNFINISHED" exhibition last year. When I finished it this past summer, I was just starting to find the answers to some nagging health questions. I was also going through some depressing times and thinking about my mortality. I was feeling very small in the big scope of things. The tiny silhouettes in the distance represent how small we are in this big world. The light in the background represents the unknown - the unknown truth. The hidden answers that we seek in life.

I used partially obscured balloons and other festive objects in the foreground to show my feelings of hope. The fox represents the supernatural, and my feelings about reincarnation. The fox is also partially hidden amongst the foreground images.
