This piece is set in 1920's.Farm families often consisted of three generations. There was always a place for the elder ones because their knowledge was so respected and there were always light chores for them to do. The way of life was very much what I experienced in the 1940's. I can't really express what my feelings were growing up in this environment, but I hope my paintings convey something of this wonderful life.
