I was born and raised in Kansas City and am currently living in Los Angeles, California. I've been a member of EBSQ since 2000.
My discovery of my creative streak began when I started drawing at the age of 4 or so. I eventually moved into other mediums such as oil painting and most recently acrylics. I am currently studying under accomplished Los Angeles artist Carol Bishop at Los Angeles Valley College.
Some of my favorite artists and influences include: Van Gogh, De Kooning, Pollock, Krasner, Darren Waterston, and Robert Irwin. Art is personal. One of the things that we do as humans is perceive, experience and feel things in ways that are individually unique. The fact that a mere expression from one individual can touch or induce a very personal response in another is a wonderful part of human interaction and connection. In my work I strive for a balance that is expressive yet disciplined; deliberate yet free.
