Status - Private Collection...Santa's base is a Brunswick bowling pin given to me by a friend who owned a bowling alley. His head, face, teeth, eyes, and tongue were sculpted from Cernit, (a clay with porcelain like qualities) baked, then painted with acrylic and sealed. It was then glued to the top of the bowling pin.

I shaped his body around the bottom part of the bowling pin with quilt batting and once his shape was there and sewn on I then made his coat which is red velvet lined with satin and added gold buttons to the front. White rabbit fur was sewn around the edge of the coat (also provided with a hood) and made his gloves from some old socks. His long underwear was styled from an old pair I had.

Santa's hair and eyebrows come from my neighbor's angora sheep and his glasses were purchased from the store The chimney he is in is a cardboard box covered with texture paint as a base and painted with acrylic, then sealed with varnish. Fantasy snow was added around the chimney top and once dried, Santa was placed inside and anchored to the box with wire.

It took me 3 months working every weekend and spare minute off from my full time job to complete.
