Media:  Acrylic
Dimensions:  16x20
Date of Work:  2004

As I was sitting at my studio desk deciding what I wanted to put on the canvas, I painted a circle . I thought I was painting a sun because I had intended to paint a landscape with acrylics, but working with acrylics is very different from oil I discovered, as this was one of my beginning experiments with the medium. Anyway, the ball was there but it didn't look as I wanted it to so I decided to work on another part of the canvas. I drew another circle and didn't really know why. To make a long story short, I believe that even though I have an idea in my mind of what I want to paint, I should allow my higher self be in control of my actions. When I allow that to happen, magical things appear on the canvas. Things I wouldn't consciously put there deliberately. I still look at this painting and wonder what the purpose was of it and finally decided it was just fun. To me it's like the big goofy looking fish on the left has maybe swallowed a golf ball and is now looking at another one he may have to eat as well. The look in his eyes makes me think he might be saying "what the....?" I think this might be something cute for a kid's room.

16x20x1 inch gallery wrapped canvas painted around the edges and can be hung as is. If you are interested in purchasing it, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for looking!
