Media:  Oil
Dimensions:  18x24
Date of Work:  2004

One day I had an idea for a painting and began to lay the base coat onto the canvas. As I was swirling the brush, an outline of a face appeared. Looking at it, I knew it was just one of those flukey kind of things that happen, like finding things in clouds, and continued to brush. I began to lay the next layer on and as I painted, this face became more pronounced as if to say "oh, no you don't - you are gonna paint me whether you like it or not!" So, for about 2 days I worked to create something else on the canvas, but this face kept showing up. I finally gave in and just followed the outline of her face and once complete, I had to wonder if it were somehow a spirit wanting to make sure her prescence wasn't forgotten. I have no idea who this woman is...maybe you know?

This painting is 18x24x1 with stapled edges and does require a frame. If you are interested in purchasing her, please feel free to contact me. Thanks for looking!
