Bids 4 Kids

Charity Auction

She was only 8 years old but had suffered a lifetime of hurts in that short span of time. We ask ourselves why the precious young must suffer through horrible terminal diseases when they deserved so much more. To experience being a happy child playing with dolls, building forts of boxes, running to greet their parents coming home from work, sharing picnics and hugs with no worries of operations, medications, constant prodding and pricking. These children have such brave little hearts and are so willing to envelope you into their arms with love and forgiveness. The listless eyes peer into your soul and with but a glimmer of color left as life ebbs into the unknown there is one final wish...help me live.

Artist is donating 25% from the final sale price of this piece to the Bids 4 Kids Charity

This is an original art card created using acrylics on heavy Canvasette paper, a paper with a real canvas texture look and feel. It is sealed on front and back for protection.

About this Charity Auction:
eBay Self -Representing artists support kids with life-threatening diseases by raising funds for Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Camps

Art often imitates life. Early this summer, however, hundreds of self-representing artists from across the United States and Canada will use art not only to imitate life, but to keep creativity in the hands of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. eBay artists will join Internet auctioneer eBay in an unprecedented online benefit, entitled Bids-4-Kids, to raise funds in support of award-winning actor Paul Newman’s Hole in the Wall Camps (HITWC) for sick children. Artists representing every state will participate in by listing original artwork for sale on Ebay’s art site, http://art.ebay.com. Proceeds from the sale of Bids-4-Kids artwork will be used to purchase art supplies for HITWC programs.

HITWC provide admission-free services for children battling life-threatening illnesses such as cancer, hemophilia, sickle cell disease, acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) and human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). Established by Newman in 1988 in Ashford , Ct., the HITWC feature state-of-the-art medical facilities that enable children to share in recreational and esteem-building activities while suffering serious health conditions. Bids-4-Kids will provide necessary supplies to HITWC around the world. More information about the Hole in the Wall Association is available at http://www.holeinthewallcamps.org

eBay houses one of the largest active self-representing art communities in the United States; the community includes thousands of artists who list original artwork online for sale daily.

Bids-4-Kids was conceived by a group of artists who wanted to showcase original art on eBay while contributing to a charitable cause. Because many artists who sell work on eBay have close ties with children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, interest in participating in the grassroots effort was immediate and immense.
