From the Ripped Off Show 2005, this is my rendition of Valerie Meijer's Dream of a Mermaid. Valerie painted the beautiful original with watercolor. I have used acrylic paints applying many layers of glaze to create the effect of depth and swirling colors with a final thin coat of iridescent pearl for a shimmering effect.

I thoroughly enjoyed painting this piece as it was something different than what I usually paint and expanded me with the challenge.
