Media:  Pencil on Paper
Dimensions:  11 x 14
Date of Work:  1996

During much of the late 90's I was obsessed with my face and my eyes, not out of vanity but curiosity. I was 20 years old in this self-portrait I did as a gift for my Mother. What was most captivating about this particular portrait were the eyes and the sense that something was going on apart from the drawing.

Looking back I wonder if looking in the mirror while I drew this I had some sense of what was to come of my life. The look in my eyes makes me think that maybe I did.

Like most of my portraits this is done in pencil on paper, and measures 11 x 14 inches.
