.

I have been a professional artist for 30 years, my earliest memories are of drawing and painting, I feel as if I was born with a brush in my hand.

My painting career started in Canada where artist Vasco Brankovich set me to helping in his studio after I had lost my job, he and his wife realised I had potential and I had finally found someone who understood how my mind worked, he gave me an apprenticeship and under his tutelage I learnt my craft. It was there I sold my first painting for $60

Over the years I have had many jobs but my life's obsession has been painting. I still don't know how or why I can paint, it is a mystery to me, every day no matter what I am doing every experience is converted in my head into paintings, I literally think in pictures.

Light, shade and colours mesmerise me, Shape and form entrance me, I am fascinated by the reaction of colour one against the other. I work in all media and love the different textures of paint and pastels, the way my brush, nearly dry, drags across a really rough watercolour paper, or the way paint 'bleeds' together.

I have been influenced by many artists and have learnt something from every artist I have ever met, past and present, putting what they taught me into practice, I am forever learning something of use.

I am a prolific painter, I have to be, it is my only job, I work in quiet chaos, my brushes have been with me for years and are as dishevelled as I and like my beloved dogs will age with me.

There have been bad times but I love my life from the elevation of selling my paintings for thousands of pounds in the 1980's to the kudos of owning my own gallery [and losing it] to the present day painting on the streets of the great capitals of Europe selling loose fast watercolours and pastels to tourists, to selling to gallery's and painting commissions and selling on eBay, there is not a moment I have not enjoyed

I am truly happy
