"Music and art are to my soul, as food and water are to my body.
I believe they are two of God's most precious gifts to His children. As the author and giver of creativity, through these gifts, He has given us a portion of Himself.
He created the very first canvas, magificantly painted it, and brought it to life."
My journey to fine art began 17 years ago with private instruction in a Nevada studio. Painting primarily on wood and metal, I continued in these endeavours while moving around the world as a military, then airline wife. My husband and I settled in Colorado with our four sons in 1994. In 1999, I opened Conrad School of the Arts, a private studio offering music instruction. In 2000, we expanded the studio, and art was incorporated into the program with such great success, that at this time, I offer art instruction exclusively.
I have worked with watercolor, acrylic, and oil pastel, but after studying for a year under Colorado artist Susan Jean, I now prefer oil, with my palette knife the tool of choice. I am known for heavy texture, thick paint and bold color. Refusing to attach myself to any particular category of art, I love abstract, impressionism, expressionism, folk, ....anything that allows me to use my knife and LOTS of paint.
I am a full time artist, dividing my time between painting and teaching. I sell my art through art shows, my website, my studio gallery, ebay, and my blogspot, where I try to post a painting a day. I love commission work.
