Opposing elements=a rebirth at dawn.
This is a painting I did in 2003 depicting the morning after a forest fire.
The opposing elements of course, are fire and water. Each element can be equally destructive to the environment. Here they have come together to renew the earth. The water keeps flowing to the scorched trees, while the glow of a raging fire lingers in the distance. The tree line on the banks of the water has been spared from the fires wrath.
