Archibald Wynne & Sulman Prizes 2009
The Archibald Prize is one of Australia's oldest and most prestigious art awards. J.F. Archibald's primary aims were to foster portraiture, support artists and perpetuate the memory of great Australians.
The Wynne Prize runs along side the Archibald and is described as the best landscape painting of Australian scenery, or figure sculpture. This year the competition was held between 7 March - 24 May 2009
Above is Bev's beautiful entry into the Wynne Prize 2009. It depicts a typical Australian early settlers homestead with it's layers of peeling paint and the metal sheeting and roofing iron chimneys were common. The homestead is surrounded by endless red dirt that is broken by small tuffs of dry grass. In the distance behind the homestead is a row of lush trees suggesting that there might be a fresh water creek running throught the properity.
Bev is now an internation selling artist with one of her painting recently going to canada. Through Ebay Bev is now taking many outside orders that are keeping her very busy and it is with pleasure that she offers her Wynne Prize entry for your viewing and bidding opportunity.
