Wether I'm painting a still life, a portrait or a tree branch, the goal is always the same: to uncover the extraordinary that lies within the ordinary.
In some ways, there is an element of self-portrait to my pictures, for better or for worse. If I can't make an emotional connection to the subject at hand, I'm better off flying a kite rather than painting.
I adore 17th century Dutch painting and early 20th century Modernism the most. Ideally, all of my pictures would look like a combination of the two- unique form, rich colors and exquisite paint handling.
