This piece is a more traditional still life than my usual work. I purchaed the silver teapot and tray on a vacation to Northern New Hampshire because I thought they would look good in a painting.

Back in my studio I attempted to light the still life for the most dramatic affect. I tried several table clothes and went with red because it gave the piece the most formal look.

The paintng is on 300 lb. Arches watercolor paper.
