My artwork is inspired by farms, the county and the extreme seasons we experience in the midwest. Since I have many interests, my art includes a wide variety of themes. Some favorite themes are old buildings, people, fairy tales, barns, plants, and on occasion abstract paintings. I love reading. Some of my favorite stories are Jack in the Beanstock and Greek mythology.
Painting with acrylics is my medium of choice. Aside from painting I create drawings with pen and ink for cards and spot illustrations in magazines. Paintings are in several private and public collections. Other pieces have been commissioned for websites, films, invitations, books, magazines, posters and an occasional portrait.
My education includes a BFA from The Art Institute of Chicago, and an MFA from Savannah College of Art and Design. I am also a graduate of Urban Hope, where I learned about business and marketing.
