This painting was a First place winner and won a coveted Gold Key in an Art Exhibition in Oak Park Illinois in 1972. It was painted with Liquitex Acrylic Paints which were introduced in 1971. I was one of the first to try the new medium which was totally amazing because it worked like oil paint without the smell. The painting was also done with Watercolors as well as Oil. The street was tissue paper and Mixed Media to achive the wet look. The buildings were Construction paper, fabric, toothpicks, clear plastic, metal, popsicle sticks and probably the bathroom sink on a streched canvas. The painting was missing for 30 years and I never knew what happened to it. In 2002 my aunt returned it to me. I must have given it to her and forgot about it. I was delighted to have it back. I hope you enjoy it too.
