This is my beautiful daughter Leah on a snowy winter Christmas Day, sassy little flirt that she is, enjoying a Mimosa and helping with dinner. I entered this into the Michigan Poetry Art Night Competition in which a poem is submitted to accompany the art. The following is the poetry that accompanied the art written by my sister/friend Lori. I adore them both!
Cocktail Coquette
poetry by Lori Pas
Red-feathered fluttering flirt
Waving her bellini-martini
Stirring for attention: libations's libertine!
Raising toasts to Gacchus/Dionysus
Singing dithyrambs in honor of her god
Possessed and ecstatic
Here: another frenzied Maenad
Under orgiastic spell
Entranced
And totally enchanting
Notice her wand
And don't dare look into her eye!
