So When Did the Art Bug Invade You?
It all started with Mickey Mouse. I would sit and draw for hours, upon hours my own version of my favorite disney character. I would save my allowance and finally was able to purchase my first watercolor set, paint brushes and that special paper. I'd mix the colors and create what I thought at the time was....a masterpiece. LIttle did I realize, it was not much more then clumps of paint mixed together that looked like cow pies!. Yep, I really thought I was brilliant! :-)
So Then What?
I never did give up , I continued to create and paint as well as begin other forms of art, in the dance form. Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Character work and Vocal would open up my soul for years to come to express the creativity I had deep down inside. Which today is not set in one paticular form or media. I do not wish to limit myself with one style, type or label. Instead I create for the moment, the day, the time frame in my life, or through someone elses life experience. Regardless of what I create, it is always with a passion.
What Media forms do you use?
As a self-taught artist I have created in Oil, Pastel, Graphite and Acrylic and have a knack for digital art as well. I have painted wildlife, landscapes, pets, cartoon, gothic mystical styles, country art, still life, fantasy, and love portraiture work as well as abstract.
Other Interests and Current Jobs
I work as a Full Time Personal Trainer. Training clients from 6am to 11am 7 days a week and as an artist from 12 noon till whenever I realize I should get out of my studio, and back into reality! I am pationate about animals/wildlife, especially Parrots.
What's in the future plans for you as an artist?
As long as I have the ability and the freedom to express, experiment and unleash on paper, I'll be a happy camper. However, to date I am currently working on new ideas for my home based business. I am developing drafts and plans to create my own website showcasing and selling art (lots of Abstract coming)as well as continuing to do my commission work of pet portraits. Until now, my work has come from word -of-mouth, networking , advertising within my own community. It's kept me busy, It's time reach out more, experiment more. I've also just started a blog which will be the foundation of the beginnings of all my future work from this point on.
