This is a story that started long ago in the town of Cooperville. Every year the big excitement was attending the county fair. This is where all the children big and small got the chance to show off their most prized animals hoping that theirs would win the blue ribbon. Well one year there was this big ruckus that left a few kids in tears. Because there wasn't enough room for each species of animal to be displayed in their own barn, they had to put the chickens and the rabbits in the same barn together. Well, it just so happened, that the prize winning rabbit ended up next to the prize winning chicken for all the people at the fair to come and observe and take pictures of. One day the rabbit over heard someone saying, "It's a shame that after this they're going to make chicken soup out of that chicken." Well, the rabbit, becoming quite fond of the chicken by now, waited till nighttime to tell the chicken what he had heard. The chicken started flapping her wings in such an uproar that she knocked over her cage and the door sprung loose. She was in such a tizzy that she knocked over the rabbit cage too and his door sprung loose as well. Well, the story goes that they ran away together somewhere they would never be found. It turned out to be a land called Bizarro land. I hear other strange creatures come from there too. Don’t even get me started on their cousins… Well, there is a lot to the story and some day it might all come out, but the long and short of it for the moment is this. The chicken and the rabbit fell in love and had a beautiful child. Well, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This is the first of many of their children, as you know, they are both known for their off spring. Please welcome their first born son, Elmer Peckenhopper. Elmer is part chicken, part rabbit. With that being said, he's quite a hopper and has an impressive wing span too. He stands 8.5 inches tall and his wings span out to 8.5 inches wide. He didn't end up with feathers or fur but he is constructed of gorgeous stained glass with copper accent trimmings. His face is made of fused glass and he has the most brilliant dichroic eyes. Polka dot decorative soldering gives him his outstanding character and did I mention he also possesses magical powers? He has this ability to put a smile on anyone's face no matter how gloomy their mood. At nighttime, because he's too embarrassed to let people see it happening in the day, he gets polished to a gorgeous shine to preserve his good looks for years to come. Oh, and he also comes signed and dated and will be a collectors item forever. We're not sure how many children the Peckenhopper family will have, so if you feel the need to take one of their children under your wings, you better do so while you have the chance before mother chicken has her wings clipped.
