I know the leaves are wrong for this tree but I made the decision to use them anyway. I wanted a light, smooth trunk for the tree as an unusual background for the cats and butterflies. I could have made a rough bark dark tree trunk but I think the painting turned out well anyway. The cats are happy chasing the butterflies and that is what's important after all.
