Media:  Oil, Acrylic, Copper, Bronze Metallics
Dimensions:  20x64" ( Four Panels)
Date of Work:  Aug - Sept 2008

A unique abstract painting across four panels, which could be hung as two and two if desired. The painting is executed in layers of acrylic and oil paint with gorgeous impasto techniques and touches of bronze and copper metallic paint. The sides are painted black for a modern look so no framing is required. The painting is executed in bright colors of cobalt ultramarine blue, naples yellow with yellow ochre, bright cadmium red and spring green. The art depicts a rooster in a garden of red poppies and blue irises, orchids and lotus leaves. The motif is borrowed from Japanese batik prints and screen paintings but reinterpreted in a fresh and completely modern way. The piece is signed by the artist.
