About Jim Worster
I have been an artist for many years but have only recently begun to offer my work on the Internet.
I began drawing as a child and in the late 1970's, took up photography. I later received a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from the University of Colorado-Boulder.
I have since spent most of my time painting in acrylic, oils, watercolor and pastel. I have also done sculpture, photographs and computer illustrations. I am currently working in acrylics and oils.
My subject matter includes abstracts, landscapes, portraits, street scenes and sometimes animals. Many of my works tend toward the surreal, others drift toward impressionism, still others are pure abstract. I don't believe an artist should be limited by materials, ideas or conventions. I'll do whatever it takes to express the world as I see and feel it.
I think of myself as a modern artist and have been deeply influenced by artist's such as Vincent van Gogh, Wassily Kandinsky, Marcel Duchamp, Wolf Kahn, Alice Neel and Alyce Frank.
