I had begun this painting two years before it was finished. Everything was completed except for her face. The night I added her face, a guy I had been dating was at my house. He'd fallen asleep there. I was so angry with him and wanted him to leave so badly, but didn't want him to fall asleep driving home. My last words to him before he fell asleep were, "YOU DO KNOW THIS IS THE LAST TIME YOU'LL SEE ME, DON'T YOU?" I stayed up all night finishing her face. I didn't intend for her to have an angry face, but I guess how I was feeling came out in my work that night.
