Media:  14K gold, sterling silver, lampwork glass
Dimensions:  30" long, 2" drop
Date of Work:  July 2007

The name of this piece - Ría Urúva - is Elvish for "Garland like Fire". It just seemed to fit wonderfully! This piece is from my personal Dragon Eggs collection - the beads are by 3 Muses Glass and the necklace links are crafted of 14K yellow, pink and nickel-free palladium-alloyed white gold. I have used 6mm 14K yellow gold beads, 3mm 14K yellow gold beads, 2mm 14K yellow gold beads, 22K vermeil .999 fine silver faceted beads, sterling silver Bali style barrel beads, bead caps, spacers and 8mm round polished beads as accents in combination with 4mm round natural garnets, red agate, yellow jade and rhodonite to complement the colors in the encased Boro beads. The pendant drop has a loop at the bottom from which I can suspend one of Caitlin's Dragons (the baby dragon pendants my 16 year old daughter makes by HAND from PMC silver!) or a single dragon egg pendant. I originally did this piece in fine silver but since I found myself wearing it ALL the time I decided to redo it in gold.
