Ring of Mictecacihuatl, day of the dead sterling silver and turquoise. Is made of hand carved Bisbee Sky blue turquoise and two red garnets set in 1/2 Ounce of sterling silver with a musical note for to represent the festive day on one side and stars on the other representing the night sky on the day of the dead. The top is laid out like a foot to represent walking in the presents of the dead. In Aztec Mythology, Mictecacihuatl is the Quen of Mictals, theunderworld, ruling over the afterlife with Mictlantecuhtli, another deity who is designated as her husband. Her role is to keep watch over the bones of the dead. She presided over the ancient festivals of the dead, which evolved from Aztec traditions into the modern Day of the Dead after synthesis with Spanish cultural traditions.
