Being a mother means I am a giver of life and I find my womanhood to be a fulfilling. I find comfort in knowing I am a nurturing being, bringing life into this world and caring for my children, guiding them as the grow and develop into new individuals. This painting depicts a woman supported by the ultimate symbol of womanhood, a sea of breasts. The breasts were shaped by tracing the outlines of discarded CD's onto my paper. While I was doing so I was thinking about all the things CD's can be used for, storing information, music, games, photos. In a way CD's are like sentimental elder woman, keeping, information, memories and mementos of the past safe.
