I piece on the 4th of July 2001while at the Fireworks show El Cajon Ca to begin. This painting took a long time to complete. When I was half way finished, the terrors attacks of 911 happened. This changed the entire meaning of this painting for me. She suddenly was much more than Liberty, she seems to question what lengths we as American's will go to protect our own liberty and how that causes problems in the world that can ultimately threaten our liberty and freedom.
