In 1999 before 9/11 I was working on a series of paintings I call "Faces of Women". This abstract painting was a project that sprang off from the original in which I painted a series of paintings of Liberty as she faced the current issues of the day. The project was put aside for a while after 9/11 because the issues I originally based it on suddenly seemed trivial.
