This is a mini-painting done in ink wash on watercolor paper of two pandas lunching on bamboo leaves eating in the bamboo forests of its natural habitat high in the mountains of China. The Giant Panda, in existence for over three million years and a highly prized animal since ancient times, represents peace in Chinese culture, and has become a symbol of goodwill. Besides being revered for its peace-loving nature, the Panda's charming personality and playful attitude make it quite irresistible. Tragically, the beautiful and rare Giant Panda has become a symbol of conservation and is an endangered species, mostly due to human expansion resulting in the loss of bamboo habitat (the mainstay of the Panda's diet) and poaching/hunting.
