Peonies exude an intoxicating scent that, for the sweetest moment, fills the head and lifts the heart. The fragrance of the peony lingers and floats on the air so that you catch a hint of it a while before coming upon its source. I love to study the delicate layers of petals and the expanse of their center, revealed as the large flower opens wider and wider.
Done on raw rice paper, then mounted onto watercolor stock. My artist seal is the square seal to the left of the flower, and the seal just above is a mood seal that means, "follow the voice within."
