When I look at this picture I am reminded of some Disney cartoons, where the flowers have pretty faces, dance around the garden, smiling at the birds, and even come up close to the camera to greet the viewer. The way in which this Pretty Susan shows up in my lens, so close and yet so defined, makes it easy to imagine that she's a lively model, one who is skilled and in command of the scene, rather than a very small and static piece of my environment. From that, to imagining that she says "Hello!" into the camera, takes a small leap of mind, easy enough to take.
