I believe that we are like the blind men with the elephant, each only able to describe one aspect of the beast. It is important to me to remember this; that there is always more than one point of view on any subject. I envision complex works that layer ideas and media to visually represent these thoughts. Currently I am exploring how I can change the way that the paint, paper, fabric, and stitch interact in a given piece. In the end, each artwork that I create brings me a step closer to being able to make what I imagine real.
During the day I work as a product development chemist and at night I come home and create in a different way. My roots are in embroidery and the stitch will always be an important part of my art. I live north of Philadelphia with my husband and three grey tabby cats.
