Another study of my constant companion "Isis", my ragdoll cat. She always looks at me with those big blue eyes, but when I am getting ready to shampoo her, she seems to be saying "You are going to do what????" She hates her bath. Isis really believes her saying, "Dogs have masters, CATS have SLAVES!!!!" She demands to be brushed at least 3 times a day. It is called our "little lovefest". It is this expression in her eyes that enchanted me and I had to paint her. I strive to capture the various expressions in these beautiful cats to show how individual they really are. Isis's delicate coloring lends itself well to soft pastels. I prefer to use ArtSpectrum paper because the tooth allows for more layers to adhere. Plus the clarity of the white pastel works beautifully for highlights in the eyes.
