I did this piece specifically for this show, I watched a movie the other nite called "She Creature", about a deep sea mermaid who turned into this evil demon fish from beyond the depths of sea, she killed everyone and fed them to the other mermaids, cool, but not quite real, although there are many stories of how the Giant Squid comes about and takes on huge pirate ships, and deep sea submarines, I have yet to hear the true stories, so this is a bit imaginary, since we really are still discovering the "Deep Sea Monsters", this is my version, searching my mind for creative juices, and the love of the ocean and mermaids, you will see a beautiful mermaid fish with fins, rising up with a giant ray, trying to escape the grasps of the huge squid from below, the lighted fish creature, is showing the way up and catches the glimpse of two lifesize jelly fish, most of these creatures from the deep eat other species of the same and plankton, they are pretty scary and spooky, boney and prehistoric, I am not sure if it is because they live in darkness, and receive no light, either way, as far as I am concerned these deep sea monsters can stay down there....I hope this piece makes the show, I really tried to stay in focus of the prospective.
