This fun and funky skirt was created from a recycled tee and hand-painted as shown. The fabric is medium weight with a bit more body for the fall season. A drawstring provides closure and allows for proper size adjustment.
The text, which would appear on the wearer's left is my original poem by the same title. It reads:
"i.pledge. i pledge
allegiance - My -
All - egiance
to your Friday mouth
unrestrained
and unrepentant"
This a-line style is designed to be cynched at the waist or on the high hip. Flat measurements of this skirt are:
Waist/High Hip: 19" (fits waist measurements up to 38")
Hip: 21" (fits hip measurements up to 41")
Length: 16" (a modest mini - it falls to mid thigh)
The photos show this skirt being modeled by Norma. Norma is a vintage 1942 (size 16) dress form and a current US Size 10. This skirt will easily fit sizes 0-10/12.
The hem and all seams are serged and overlocked. While hand-washing is always recommended (see photo of Care Instructions) this particular design takes very well to being washed in the machine. Machine washing will cause the colors to soften just a bit and lend a softer hand to the overall feel of the garment. Several washings in the machine will also create a unique distress pattern that is quite flattering to this design.
The price of this skirt includes shipping to the contiguous 48 United States. Customers from Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico, and abroad should inquire regarding appropriately discounted shipping costs before ordering.
