This is another in a series of more humanesque greenmen. He has a primal feeling beyond his leafy form...I wanted a look of peace and great wisdom.

This is terra cotta clay, moderately grogged, that works well for sculptural pieces. I scuplted the face first, then added the leaves and other details as they seemed called for. He is very dimensional, so I tried to maintain that 3D clarity.
