This beautiful horse is painted on a 11x14 double primed, acid free, premium flat canvas panel. Grumbacher oils were used to create this. The trees in the background are actually painted with olive green, and green umber. They look a little darker then what they actually are because the canvas picked up a little bit of the flash from the camera. I used a mixture of green umber, olive green, regular green, burnt umber, black, and lemon yellow to create the field the horse is galloping in. Black, titanium white, burnt umber and raw umber were worked into the horse to give him his wonderful texture, feathering (around the hocks), and muscles. He seems to have a lifelike flowing movement, which can be hard to capture when painting horses.
This guy would make an excellent gift (Christmas is right around the corner!), or decorative item. He is ready to frame.
The painting will come signed and dated on both the front and the back by me, Janelle Dixon. It will also come with its own certificate of authenticity, which will also come signed and dated by me.
