I was born in New York City in 1973. My earliest memories as a child were of me drawing flowers, bunnies, hands, and Cabbage Patch Kids. My mother would always say that there wasn't a time that I wasn't drawing.
In high school, one of my art teachers took an interest in one of my daily doodles of a mixed watercolor/pen and ink piece and confiscated it. The next time I saw it was when it was hanging on the wall at the Long Island Bank. Another art teacher submitted one of my acrylic paintings to an art competition without my knowledge. I was presented with 2nd place in the competition by Congressman Tom Downey. I received the Chemical Bank Art Award and the Dawn Marie Benz Scholarship upon graduation.
I continued my studies at the Fashion Institute of Technology, where I studied Advertising Design and received an A.A.S. Afterwards, I received my B.F.A. from School of Visual Arts in NYC where I majored in Computer Art. Upon graduation, I worked as a Graphic Designer for over 13 years, when I decided to make the switch back to pursuing a career in fine art full-time.
I am currently seeking gallery representation and hope to exhibit shortly. I am currently a member of the EBSQ Online Art Community and recently won a "Member's Choice" award for my pastel piece "The Perfect Lily". I have recently studied at the Art Student's League of NY under instructors Barbara Adrian and Ephraim Rubenstein.
Being a vivid person, I use a lot of emotion and color in my work. Art is all I know, it is essential to me as breathing. Everything that I chosen is because I have been captured by the subject, and I see it's beauty. My work has somewhat of an illustrative quality, but I wouldn't say that I am an illustrator or a realist. I would describe my style as naturalistic.
