A pink sunrise casts its color mid-morning only to produce a very stormy day ahead...this is Saturday, May 17, 2008, in Duluth, MN. This painting was hard to capture as I painted it outside on my deck in the morning. The skies changed rapidly from its sunrise to what occurred for the rest of the day! Right after I painted this pink cloudy morning, we had blue sky and light clouds and then suddenly we had menancing storm clouds on the horizon. We lucked out with only a few down pours even though all around us there was rain, dramatic clouds, lightening, and hail. This was done in a mix of white, blue, red, and yellow oil paints outside.
