Genesis is a self-descriptive title for those who are raised Jewish, Moslem, or Christian. "Genesis" means "birth" or "origin." In this context, it is the origin of mankind. Eve holds a fruit that is shaped in a heart. In many cultures, heart equates to soul or beginning. She offers the fruit to Adam, her partner. Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden is a widely-known story where Eve finds the tree of knowledge (or conscience) by being led to it by a snake (or serpent, where some have related this to be the spiraling imagery of the DNA helix and also that which denotes the medical community). Eve picks the fruit that will awaken her and her mate to their nakedness (i.e. knowing the difference between right and wrong). The "fruit" or "apple" is painted in a heart-shaped form to signify more deeply-hidden meanings as the Genesis story exhibits.
