| I began sculpting at the beginning of 2004 and rapidly became hooked. Inspiration comes from many places - fantasy writing and painting, Arthurian legend and the ancient mythology of the Celts. My figures are one of a kind pieces, hand sculpted in polymer clay over wire armatures, baked, painted, wigged and costumed by hand. Sometimes I'm set off on the sculpting adventure by just a scrap of fabric, a colour, sentiment or something found on a walk along the beach or through the woods... I was over the moon to be awarded 'Recognised Artist' status by the British Miniature Dollmakers' Guild in November 2007(www.bmdg.co.uk), a month which also saw the Ebrenn Elves featured in Doll Magazine, which was an incredible thrill. Also chuffed to have two sculpts on display in the Orkney Faerie Museum & Gallery, run by writer Alicen Geddes Ward and husband visionary artist Neil. Under the auspices of WitchEver Oak I also create hand-crafted crystal jewellery inspired by nature and the seasons - I'm sure some of that will also pop up here from time to time too!
