This bather was sketched on Juhu Beach in Bombay on the shores of the Arabian Sea. This is a spatter painting; I did the figure in wet-in-wet wash (no pencil drawing, just brushwork) and followed this with spattering of cerulean blue and quinacridone rose to get the effect of the shimmering sunset. This was from a scene I watched on Juhu Beach in India. This is the beach where they film the Bollywood pictures. Many people gather there in the dusk and eat snacks (bhel puri), get their fortune read, eat ice cream or just enjoy the cool of the evening after the humid heat of the day. Some people wade a bit in the Arabian Sea, and that's what I painted, a wader at sunset.
