This mosaic was made as a gift for a fellow mosaic artist who lives in Arizona. I selected the Aloe Vera as my subject because it is a desert succulent and also my favorite potted plant.

For emphasis, I cut larger pieces of glass to describe the leaves of the plant. Smaller pieces were used on the pot, shading from light to dark green, to suggest a three dimensional image.

Aloe Vera was featured in the CD Album "Mosart Art 3, An International Portrfolio of Contemporary Mosaic Art from 2007. It also received a Patron's Mention in one of EBSQ's monthly competitions.
