This piece was created for the Ripped Off show.

It has been an honor to get to work with cel on this show, to really study a piece of hers... hang it in my studio... take it in... and produce something that, in my language, would honor the passion that she puts into her work.

This is a version of her piece entitled "Famine".

The riders of the apocalypse are a biblical reference from Revelations, pertaining to the end of civilization. Of the four riders that come to end the world, Famine is the Third. In "his" role, he is symbolized by the color black (a symbol of death and famine) and brings with him a scarcity of food, higher prices, and hunger.

Such a powerful, but unkind character, I tried to portray her with the cold, stark intensity with which I would imagine her to appear...
