Concepts

I am inspired by artists, activists, writers and musicians spawning political change such as: Howard Zinn, Jack Kerouac, Dolores Huerta, Los Crudos, and Banksy.

Process

I see my art as a process rather than a physical thing. It is the quality of being a journey that gives it the strength I relish. For example, why should I go out and buy canvas, when I can find it being thrown away? The process of finding discarded materials suitable for making art is supportive of my concepts regarding waste and consumption. I am constantly on the look out for discarded materials suitable for making art. Discarded wood makes up the bulk of my reused materials. Since I believe there is too much waste in this country, then it makes sense that I use recycled materials in making my art. My art studio itself is made of recycled lumber. I do not want to follow the status quo, when my political and environmental views reject it. In examining the force underlying the art, not just the way it "looks," my expression remains driven, resourceful, and communal.
