Well, I, like many I guess, have a thousand unfinished pieces, and this one really bothers me, I was looking to make this watercolor more of a "pop poster art" like those that were big in the 40's. There was a big fad again back around the end of 2006 for this type, like all the cocktail and martini paintings I see everywhere, I guess that some would call it Bar Art. However, I seemed to have lost that look somewhere in the process, so here I am stuck and not sure how yet to finish it! I started out just pouring on the frisket cuzz I'm horrible at saving my whites without it, and then I added the undertones of blues and pinks in his face to give it that orange glow that I was striving for. This last photo shot of the painting is with all the frisket removed, and I just haven't gone forward anymore. I even did a video of it and many others on youtube to try and make me finish them, you know, as a catalyst to get me to finish them, but they still sit on my easle.
