Five, Six, Seven, Eight, born on this great date, was the artist Deanna Susanne Russo. Twenty-nine years ago in the town of Clarksburg, West Virginia she came into this world not too common a place for a child to exist. Her home was a four story warehouse building, a wonderful place to explore. Both parents were self employed, her father owned and operated carnival games and her mother was a very talented miniature artist. Deanna Susanne Russo spent the first eight years of her life in the carnival. Surrounded by colors and always on the go, she never had to look far for inspiration. Although her talents have always shined and creativity has always flowed freely for Deanna, her first painting was not created until eight years after leaving West Virginia. This first acrylic piece was selected to hang in the Hibrow Art Exhibition at the Art Institute of Ft. Lauderdale.

ARTISTIC STATEMENT..... From my viewpoint, inspiration pours into me mostly from colors. I then combine these hues with appealing angles which together sweep accross my surface. This provides flow and movement for your eyes to travel all over the piece and follow elements to bold design intersections that extend beyond the piece itself. There are trademark design features that are repeated through most of my pieces which are becoming my signature style. Stripes, parallel lines, and acute angles always find their way into my work.

Painting is my passion. As long as there is color I will paint. My other artistic interest is drawing and designing tattoo flash. I get great thrills from creating art that will be permanantly inked into somebody's skin. I wear a few of my designs myself. I do mostly bold tribal designs. I feel that tribal can work well with all the lines and angles of a persons body and also "read" well from a distance.
