This portrait meant alot to my family as "Etta" was my Great Grandmother, a descendant of William Bradford of the "Mayflower". There are few photos of her and I had to use a sepia toned 1" X 1-1/2" wallet photo as reference. I had remembered her as having incredible "light blue eyes"...it runs in the family.
When the portrait was unveiled, my aunts, cousins and most importantly my Grandmother and Mother weeped. I was very surprised when I realized the great emotional impact of having a post-humous portrait of a well loved ancestor. I invite you to think of possibly having a portrait commissioned of someone in your family, especially when there are not a great number of memorable photos to memorialize them.
